The home of GRS is a historic building dating from the 1890s. Originally a hotel and saloon, the building has served such diverse purposes as a general store, bookbindery, dentist’s office, and an art gallery. It provides the perfect home for its current use as our studio and showroom for Gills Rock Stoneware. The natural beauty of the Door Peninsula is a constant source of inspiration for us of GRS, since we rely heavily on natural elements for the decorations we incorporate into our work.
